Wild flowers are very unique and beautiful. I like them very
much. You can do much with them, especially handicraft. They are so present to
your eyes and can help you generate more ideas or to brighten up your days too.
I personally like the colorful personality of each wild
flower. You can easily get to know them as they are always easy to find and fun
to play with. They can be kept easily too. If you want to make book marks you
can count on them as they are very small and easy to handle. Once I tried to
make book marks with tulip flowers but their color turn brown after a few days I
pressed them. Also they are very hard to laminate as they are very thick
compare to the little wild flowers. Also molds grow on them after a few days as
they have so much moisture. As a result, big flowers are not suitable for
pressing.
I think wild flowers are fun. For instance, the mimosa plant
is so unique. You can play with its leaves. When I go for a walk I will always
look for them. Kids nowadays have less fun as they don’t know how to get fun
with the nature. I like looking for them in the field. The most exciting part
is touching its leaves. They will close up. In Chinese we call them shy grass
as they look shy and hide their faces. If you are lucky, you can see their
beautiful pink, hairy flowers. They look nice too when they start to budding
with red bud. You can press its leaves and flowers at the same time. However,
its leaves will be closed whenever you touch them. You can arrange them to
create patterns or you can use tape to hold the leaves in place.
I also like the red bundle of little flowers. You can suck
their sweet juice at the end of the flower stalks. Yes. Now you can pretend to
be the bees or the butterfly. You must press them for 4 days minimum. Then you
must not leave them expose to the air as their bright red color will turn pale
or orange color. Not so sharp to see. They are the fastest flowers for pressing
and making book marks.
The morning glory is interesting too. It comes in many colors. Some are pink, purple and even blue. Nowadays, you can not find them regularly. Last time, they always climb on our fence. I enjoy watching them budding, bloom and climbing up with their little curly hands. However, pressing the morning glory is not easy. If you left it for too long, they will turn too dry with transparent petals. You can try to press them for 5 days instead to get a sharper color. I particularly like the blue morning glory. As the color is very sharp, you can make a very nice book mark with yellow color paper. I once arrange them in a circle and they look really nice with the stem of the wild grass.
Well, just go out and explore the nature and you can collect
as many wild flowers as you like. You can try pressing them and make nice handicrafts
with them. They are too strong that their colors will always stay as long as you
press them and check on them regularly. Even though you don’t even know their names,
they will always look so nice in your eyes. They are so simple as you can find them
in many colors and ways.
